From humble beginnings in 1987 when Andrew Skilling started a small family business designing and installing bespoke waste water treatment systems for rural dwellings without access to mains drainage, Mantair has grown to be one of the most established and recognised brands in the domestic septic tank and sewage treatment plant market.
Initially formed to focus on the design and manufacture of the ‘novel’ Mantair septic tank conversion unit, the Company has been the industry pioneer in septic tank upgrades and conversions since the introduction of the Mantair conversion unit in the late 1980’s. The Company has evolved over the last two and half decades to provide a ‘one stop’ solution for the design, manufacture, supply and commissioning of all ‘off mains’ drainage solutions. The organisation became a ‘limited company’ in 1998 and Andrew Skilling is still today Managing Director.
The Company still today retains its ‘family owned’ status and all shares in the organisation are owned by family members. Kevin Skilling who joined the company in 1993, is the Company Sales Director and is one of seven family members employed by the organisation.

Our manufacturing division is responsible for the research and development of the market leading Mantair brand of septic tank conversion units. These units are specifically designed to ‘convert’ existing septic tanks or cesspools into small sewage treatment plants.
Our ‘in house’ contracting division provides a professional service in the field of wastewater treatment products, including design, installation and commissioning of cesspools, septic tanks, septic tank conversions and sewage treatment plants, for both commercial and domestic customers.
Our maintenance division provides a ‘one-stop’ service for the repair and servicing of sewage treatment plants and Mantair conversion units. Our dedicated and trained maintenance staff provides a professional and personal service for all of our clients, including planned maintenance visits.
