If your property is located in the countryside you may have a sewage treatment plant that will require periodic maintenance and servicing.  Primarily operating throughout East Anglia and surrounding Counties of London, our maintenance personnel provide a professional and personal service for all of our clients, including planned maintenance visits.

Maintenance Contracts

Pollution in ditches and streams can be caused by faulty or poorly maintained sewage treatment plants.  Our maintenance department offers clients the opportunity to enter into a maintenance contract whereby we will inspect and service the system regularly to make sure the sewage treatment plant is working safely and efficiently as possible.

Using our maintenance database we have the ability to advise our clients when their sewage treatment plant requires a service and the need for emptying of the system.  We also keep all records of the servicing data, with the client receiving carbon copies of all correspondence.

Refurbishment

Where possible we are able to repair, modify or refurbish existing sewage treatment systems that have failed or showing signs of wear.  We are able to visit site to evaluate any problems and advise on the works required to extend the operation life of system.

Damaged Drainage System

Many property owners are unaware that the costs to repair or replace a damaged cesspool, septic tank or sewage treatment plant can be covered by their existing buildings insurance policies.  For those who are aware, the thought of dealing with insurers and loss adjusters on the technical ins and outs of a drainage system can be quite a daunting prospect.

Mantair works in partnership with the UK’s leading drainage insurance claims management company to offer our customers a unique insurance claims management service. Providing expertise in managing insurance claims for the costs of repairing or replacing damaged drainage systems, we work on behalf of property owners helping them to save thousands of pounds in resolving their drainage issues.

The following types of septic tank or drainage system damage are typically covered by buildings insurance policies

  • Root damage to soakaway/drainage field pipework or tanks;
  • Cracks or fractures to tanks, affecting the structural stability;
  • Broken dip pipes or T-pipes on the outlet of tanks;
  • Collapsed or damaged baffles / partition walls in tanks;
  • Tanks that have ‘popped’ out of the ground (even if only by a few inches);
  • Tanks or pipework that has been damaged by vehicle movement above ground.

It is important to bear in mind that policies vary from insurer to insurer.  If you’re not sure whether you may be covered, don’t be afraid to ask us.  We are here to help identify whether the septic tank problems or other drainage issues you’re experiencing may be covered by your insurance policy.
